Some have lived here for over 20 years. People travel mainly by boat, and numerous raft houses are lined along the river. Most of them are wooden rafts with relatively low roofs to reduce wind resistance. These raft houses have house numbers and electricity just like houses on land, and none are enclosed by fences, although bamboo poles floating in the water mark their territories. Nearly every house keeps dogs to serve as a warning when someone approaches the raft. Living on the Sakae Krang River means that almost every aspect of life depends on this river.
